Zero Inbox Day · Thursday 19 November 2026 · Eight seats
One working day with zero time in your inbox.
Your mail and calendar, run by voice from your phone. A briefing before you start, replies you dictate, meetings you book by saying so. I set it up with you the week before, and you keep it for fourteen days after, free.
Applications close Friday 13 November 2026, or when the eight seats are taken.
What the day sounds like
Before you start
Your morning briefing arrives on your phone: today's meetings and what came in overnight.
On the way in
“What came in from Anna?” It reads it to you. “Draft a reply: Thursday works, I will send the papers before.” The draft is written in your own mailbox.
When you are ready
“Send it.” By default it tells you what is about to go and waits for your yes.
Between meetings
“What is on this afternoon?” “Book thirty minutes with Tom at three tomorrow.” “Cancel my four o’clock.”
Whenever it occurs to you
“Remind me to chase the signed engagement letter on Friday.” It goes on your task list.
Before you stop
“What is on my list?” You leave with nothing in your head that is not written down somewhere.
Zero time in your inbox, not an empty one
Most of a working day in the inbox is not reading. It is opening the laptop to find the one message that matters, typing a two-line reply, and checking the calendar before you agree to a time.
For one day you do all of that by speaking. Nothing is filed, moved, archived or deleted for you. Your mail stays where it is, in the Outlook you already use, and every reply sits in your own Sent Items where you can check it.
At the end of the day you will know whether you would hand over the keyboard. That is the whole point of doing it for one day.

Apply below
Tell me which mailbox you would connect. Within one working day I reply to say whether a seat is yours.
- 2
Setup call, 30 minutes, week of 16 November
You connect your own mailbox and calendar on Microsoft’s sign-in page, link your phone, and switch on the morning briefing. We try the first instructions together.
- 3
Thursday 19 November: the day
Phone in pocket, hands off the keyboard. I am on standby all day if anything does not do what you expect.
- 4
Friday 20 November: fifteen minutes on what happened
What worked, what did not, and what you checked in your Sent Items against what it told you it did.
- 5
Fourteen more days, free
Keep using it to Thursday 3 December. Then carry on, or we disconnect and you owe nothing. No card details to start.
What you need
- A Microsoft 365 or Outlook.com mailbox you are allowed to connect: your own, or your administrator joins the call.
- Telegram on your phone. It is free.
- Thirty minutes in the week of 16 November for the setup call.
- A working day on Thursday 19 November with real mail and real meetings in it.
Not on Microsoft? Google accounts cannot be connected yet. Apply and say so, and you will hear when they can.
The small print, in plain words
You sign in on Microsoft's own page. ChiefofStaff never sees your password, and one sentence (“disconnect my Microsoft account”) destroys the permission it holds.
By default every send waits for your confirmation. Nothing is filed or deleted. Each person's data is kept apart in the database, not by an instruction to a model.
Some processing, including transcription and the language models, runs in the United States. Exactly what goes where is on the security page. Read it before you apply if it matters to you.

My side of the deal
I run every setup call myself and I am on standby on the day. In return I ask for one thing: fifteen minutes on the Friday telling me plainly what worked and what did not. That is how the product gets better.
